Webquest Hot potatoes

Subo dos actividades que hice con Hot Potatoes. Se me complicó con las otras opciones que intenté así que decidí investigar a fondo esta opción, lo cual resultó extremadamente complicado.

Hot Potatoes es una aplicación que se utiliza para crear automáticamente diferentes actividades (típicas) relacionadas al tema que elijamos. Cuenta con 6 opciones:

Jmatch: Crea ejercicios en los que se unen incisos. A nuestra izquierda tenemos los elementos ordenados y a la izquierda tenemos los elementos que se mezclarán. Se pueden poner fotos o texto.
Jquiz: Crea quizzes basados en preguntas. Cuenta con 4 tipos diferentes de quizzes: un multiple-choice, unas preguntas cerradas, una mezcla entre los dos anteriores y uno en el que a lxs educandos se les presenta un grupo de palabras del cual tienen que elegir todos los items correctos. Todos cuentan con pistas y algunos con feedback en el momento, para que le educando pueda comprender qué parte está haciendo bien y qué parte está haciendo mal.
Jcross: Crea crucigramas con pistas.
Jmix: Crea ejercicios en los que aparecen oraciones con las palabras mezcladas. Se puede poner la cantidad de oraciones correctas deseadas e incluso poner pistas para ayudar a lxs educandos.
Jcloze: Crea ejercicios de fill in the blanks con posibles respuestas ilimitadas para cada espacio.
The Masher: Es una herramienta que compila un set de ejercicios de Hot Potatoes y facilita administrarlos como unidad (mismo color, misma letra, etc) para poder subirlos a una página web.

Pros: Hace extremadamente sencillo el trabajo de generar actividades personalizadas para que lxs educandos puedan practicar los temas vistos en clase.

Contras: Esta herramienta sirve únicamente para generar actividades y hay que descargarla en la PC. Es un poco complicada de acceder y utilizar; no es sencillo encontrar las instrucciones y si uno no lo logra, investigar se torna complicadísimo. 

¿De qué manera puede servir en la clase de lengua extranjera? Alx profesorx le va a ser muy útil a la hora de crear actividades personalizadas (i.e con el material visto en clase) para sus educandos.
Tratando de buscar opciones menos tradicionales para esta herramienta, se me ocurre que sería posible crear un webquest en el que lxs educandos tengan que investigar determinado tema por grupos y finalice con que deban presentar una de las actividades existentes en Hot Potatoes con la información recopilada durante su investigación, sin embargo, creo que no es una herramienta sencilla de utilizar, por lo cual sería demasiado esfuerzo para utilizarla una sola vez.

Gap-fill exercise

Peel the potatoes and cut into 1/2-inch dice. Place a medium saucepan and cover with cold water. Set high heat, cover and bring to a boil. Once , uncover, decrease the heat to maintain a simmer and until tender and easily crushed with tongs, approximately 10 15 minutes. Place the half-and-half and butter into a -safe container and heat in the microwave until warmed through, 35 seconds. Drain the potatoes in a colander and return to the saucepan. Mash the potatoes and then the half and half, butter, salt and pepper and to mash until smooth. Stir in the yolk until combined.

Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F.

While potatoes are cooking, prepare the filling. Place the canola into a 12-inch saute pan and set over medium heat. Once the oil shimmers, add the onion and and saute just until they begin to take on , approximately 3 to 4 minutes. Add the garlic and to combine. Add the lamb, salt and pepper and until browned and cooked through, approximately 3 minutes. Sprinkle meat with the flour and toss to coat, continuing cook for another minute. Add the tomato paste, chicken , Worcestershire, rosemary, thyme, and stir to combine. Bring to boil, reduce the heat to low, cover and simmer 10 to 12 minutes or until the sauce is slightly.

Add the corn and peas to the lamb and spread evenly into an 11 by 7-inch glass dish. Top with the mashed potatoes, starting around the to create a seal to prevent the mixture from up and smooth with a rubber spatula. Place on parchment lined half sheet pan on the middle rack the oven and bake for 25 minutes or just the potatoes begin to brown. Remove to a cooling for at least 15 minutes before serving.
